Help End Gender-Based Violence Through This Life-Changing Program

BWSS Violence Prevention and Intervention training program is offered to self-identified women who want to obtain the necessary skills to volunteer within our direct services program.

Through this inclusive, intensive training, participants will acquire knowledge and skills related to:

  • Theoretical framework of violence against women, girls and femmes
  • Crisis intervention
  • Safety assessment and planning
  • Group facilitation
  • Introduction to Criminal, Family and Immigration Law
  • Feminist, Intersectional and Decolonizing Practices
  • Impacts of Colonization, assimilation, and residential schools
  • LGBTQ2S survivors of gender-based violence
  • Understanding the spectrum of gender-based violence

    Hi, I’m interested in the training beginning in April. I have taken the course back around 2014 and it was incredibly helpful to my role in supporting women since and personally hugely enriching experience. Please let me know if retaking the course is possible. With appreciation, Suzanne
