Battered Women’s Support Services (BWSS) is looking for committed, energetic, visionary women who want to serve on the BWSS Board of Directors. It is an excellent opportunity to be involved in and help influence the future of women’s services and women’s social enterprise in Metro Vancouver area… and in the province of British Columbia.
The BWSS Board of Directors is committed to anti-colonial, anti-oppression, feminist principles and women’s liberation. We welcome women from the widest representation in our communities to join us in this commitment and make this a truly unique group of women who help make a difference.
The Board of Directors operates within a traditional governance model and decisions are made by consensus. The Board works in collaboration with the Executive Director, Angela Marie MacDougall, who serves as the only staff member on the Board, to help achieve the BWSS mission and objectives with an ultimate goal of ending violence against women.
The BWSS governance model is growing and we are looking for women who are interested in working within our current model bringing a variety of different skills and experience to our growing Board of Directors.
We are also looking for women who are:
- Dedicated in working towards ending violence against women
- Dedicated to the fact that BWSS exists to provide support services, training and education related to violence against women
- Interested to social enterprise
- Committed to anti-colonial, anti-oppression feminist principles
