Battered Women’s Support Services is so fortunate to have your support in our endeavour to eliminate violence against women and girls.
With your support we have been able to reach 35% of our fundraising goal as participants for a fourth year in the Scotiabank Half marathon and 5K. With just a couple of weeks left until the race day, we need your help for a final push to reach our goal of $25,000.
Help us reach our goal here.
At all levels in the community people are committed to support the work of BWSS. Our runners, walkers and donors are truly an inspiration.
Patricia Massy from Massy books generously donated 10% of her book sales to the BWSS Scotiabank Charity Challenge team: “I support BWSS because I support the work they do to liberate women and girls from violence. I have spent the last 14 years working and volunteering for various women’s organizations, but none is like BWSS. The women that work and volunteer here truly stand by their mission, creating at atmosphere of inclusion and diversity for all women. It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to fundraise for such an incredible organization!”
Jessica who volunteers with our Youth Ending Violence program will be running in the 5k this year: “When I was younger my mom needed help but there weren’t any programs like this available in our small community because of the lack of leadership and funding. The work that BWSS does has helped so many women and girls like my mom and they should be supported. The money raised will provide this integral community organization with much needed resources to continue helping women and girls in need!”
Chloe, originally from Toronto, chose BWSS after being inspired when visiting our website. She has been able to surpass her fundraising goal of $1000!
BWSS programs and services reach thousands of women, girls and youth each year. And we need your support to help continue to offer these critical resources. Be part of the change and help make violence against women history.
